"Be the change you want to see in the world." (Mahatma Gandhi)
My name is Szilvia Jánky and I created this bilingual blog to help you develop self-confidence and self-esteem, and to help you live a happier and more balanced life. It contains articles and advice about self-confidence, happiness and goodness and you can also read true stories about adopted dogs in connection with and appropriate to the topic. The Hungarian version of the page is www.onbizalomfejlesztes.hu, so if you want to combine reading with learning a foreign language and building vocabulary, click on the link at the end of each story to read its translation.
How did Foxy give the idea?
I`ve always had a doggy, but there was a year break after I had to say goodbye to my lovely old Fules. Foxy was a sudden decision. I wanted a therapy dog, who I can take to my English private lessons, or to school with me to represent the responsible pet ownership, and the animal protection foundation suggested him. They said he was homeless, did not have a microchip, must have been chased away and abandoned, but he was calm and kind with all animals and humans, had no aggression at all. When we realised him, he was cautious and shy, moved slowly and kept a little distance from everybody. A hyperactive puppy was jumping above his head, but he did not even move. He knew immediately that I came because of him. He came to me with sadness in his eyes and let me cuddle him. A therapy dog? It turned out quickly that he should get rid of his fear first, then need to build his confidence. And so do I as dogs are our mirrors.
But besides ourselves, perhaps others want to be more confident too.
How to do it?
How to be happy?
How can goodness and the love of animals help with this?
LET`S EXPLORE IT TOGETHER.
